West Ham have a bid on the table for Jesse Lingard but Newcastle are proving to be a real problem

West Ham have a bid on the table for Manchester United ace Jesse Lingard, but Newcastle are proving to be a huge problem.

That’s because the offer from the Hammers is currently not as good as that made by the Magpies according to a report by 90 Min.

Lingard spent a wonderfully successful four months on loan at the London Stadium last season. However, he returned to Manchester United in the summer, dreaming of playing regularly for his boyhood side.

Your club’s SURPRISE star this season

Unfortunately for the 29-year-old, he sold himself a lie and barely featured for Man United this season.

David Moyes would obviously love to bring Jesse back to the London Stadium this summer. The Scot is a huge Lingard fan and described him as an ‘incredible’ player last season (Claret and Hugh).

However, Newcastle seem ready to put a real wrench in place for the Hammers…

Newcastle have a better offer than West Ham on the table for Lingard

90 Min claim the Hammers are in danger of being eyed by the Toon in the race to sign Lingard on a free transfer from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

Bringing the 33-cap England international back to East London for absolutely nothing, apart from his salary and signing fee of course, would be a great deal for West Ham.

And Moyes should do everything in his power to convince Jesse to join us rather than move to St James’ Park at the end of the season.

Lingard was absolutely vital in the way we played devastatingly fast counter-attacking football last season, with his pace and directness.

West Ham have clearly missed out on the 29-year-old this season and re-signing him on a free will be an absolute no-brainer for Moyes and the Hammers board this summer.

It looks like Newcastle could be ready to offer Lingard a lot more money than West Ham and maybe even a longer deal.

Frustratingly, it’s obvious to see that the Magpies and their newfound wealth will cause us all sorts of problems in the transfer market for the foreseeable future.
