Resurrections will have a red carpet premiere in San Francisco

Mark your calendars for December 18, an event you won’t be invited to as Keanu and the gang will be returning to San Francisco for the red carpet indoor premiere of. The matrix: resurrections.

Fans have familiarly referred to the highly anticipated fourth Matrix installment as The matrix 4, maybe as a defense mechanism, because that’s his real name The matrix: resurrections looks so much The matrix: revolutions – by far the most abominable movie in the franchise, and perhaps the most abominable Hollywood big-budget movie ever to date. But don’t worry, Keanu, everything is forgiven, we’ll be fooled again!

After all, San Francisco collectively watered itself when the Matrix: Resurrections the trailer came out earlier this month, and it’s time to put the phasers back on squee. Variety reports that The matrix: resurrections will premiere in San Francisco on Saturday, December 18, four days before it arrives in theaters and on HBO Max on Wednesday, December 22.

“Sources tell me that Warner Bros. will host the film’s US premiere in San Francisco on December 18,” Variety’s Marc Malkin said. “Details, including the location, are still being worked out. “

It’s a slim source, but plausible evidence. The movie was shot here and in Berlin, and of course the most lucrative American audiences are going to be knocked out. But where will be the first? The Castro Theater is a well-equipped one-screen movie theater. But we’re betting on the SF Opera House, a much more glitzy facility where they had the Game Of Thrones Season 5 premiered in 2015.

It’s also a great opportunity to spark excitement, like after the nothingness of last year’s Christmas movie season, Matrix: Resurrections will have stiff competition from West Side Story, Spider-Man: No Path Home, and Sherlock Holmes 3.

You will notice that there is no original concept in the bunch. It’s Hollywood for you these days, but most of them are headlines that have been withheld because of COVID-19. And when it comes to sequels and bloated reboots, Slashgear points out a super fun fact. Before COVID kicks in, the fourth installment of two Keanu Reeves franchises, Matrix: Resurrections and John wick 4, were originally scheduled to be released the same day, May 21.
