Nottingham Forest have submitted a last-minute bid for Strasbourg striker Ludovic Ajorque, sources have said Initiated in football.
The Premier League’s new boys are working on a deal to land the 28-year-old Ligue 1 striker on loan.
Everton have already shown interest in Ajorque, which has also caught the eye of rival Premier League clubs.
Ajorque has reached double goals in each of the last four seasons with Strasbourg in all competitions.
Forest have been the busiest club in this summer’s transfer window and are planning new signings on deadline day.
On August 10, this site revealed that Wolves had submitted an offer for the striker.
Strasbourg rejected Wolves’ offer as they held out for their £18million asking price to be met.
The striker currently has two years on his contract at Strasbourg and has failed to score in five league appearances this season.
Ajorque joined the Ligue 1 club in 2018 from French top-flight side Clermont Foot for a fee of around £2million.
Everton are also looking to bolster their attacking options following a long-term injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
He is expected to be out until November after picking up an injury on the eve of the new season.
Forest lost 6-0 to Man City on Wednesday night as new singer Ronan Lodi made his debut.
Steve Cooper’s side will be next in action against Bournemouth on Saturday August 3.
