Keanu Reeves is reprising his role as Neo in the first trailer for the long-awaited new Matrix movie, The Matrix Resurrections.
The footage shows him as Thomas talking to a therapist, played by Neil Patrick Harris, and telling him, “I had dreams that weren’t just dreams. Am I crazy? “
The trailer also shows him reuniting with Carrie Ann Moss’ Trinity, but it seems the couple no longer recognize each other.
As the couple shake hands, she asks him, “Have we met?” as he shakes his head.
It seems like Thomas regularly takes blue pills, keeping him in tune with his current reality, until he finally throws them away to take a red pill to see that his reality is just a mirage, like him. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II says: “Time to fly.”
It looks like Abdul-Matteen, who brings Neo back to kung fu training, plays a character similar to Laurence Fishburne’s Morpheus.
The film is directed by Lana Wachowski, who directed and wrote the previous Matrix films with her sister Lilly.
The first Matrix movie made its theatrical debut in 1999, followed by The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.
The new release will also feature Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, who makes a cameo appearance in the trailer, along with Jonathan Groff, Jessica Henwick, and Christina Ricci.
